Liberty has over 20 years’ experience in supply chain management and project management.

He has held the position of Senior Manager in charge of Logistics at Eskom. He was responsible for the implementation of the Road-To-Rail migration strategy, one of ESKOM’s Strategic Imperatives – also a National Strategy. 

Liberty was the Supply and Logistics Manager for Masana Petroleum Solutions, He was able to meet Masana’s customers’ requirements and successfully increased performance against the KPI’s.

In 2004, Liberty was involved in a start-up consulting firm Neosolutions, currently known as NeoAfrica.

Liberty served as an Executive Director at a transport company operating in the petroleum industry in South Africa. He increased the major customer base from one oil major to all major operating in South Africa and turned the company into a significant player in the petroleum transport industry. Liberty spent 11 years at BP and its various subsidiaries national and international. He held various positions in the refinery optimisation group and gained valuable experience in the practical aspects of the petrochemical industry. He served as Supply Scheduler and then a Business Analyst for BP Oil UK in 1991 to 1992, where he scheduled the entire rail and pipeline movements for the BP Oil UK depot network. From 1992 to 2001, Liberty again dealt with BP’s business in Africa. His portfolio included price and refinery margin volatility through hedging; providing the refinery optimisation and conducting risk management. Liberty was responsible for the entire shipping activities of BP Southern Africa; coordinating with the other oil companies to optimise coastal shipping within South Africa and neighbouring countries such as Namibia and Mozambique.
