Enver Asmal has an Engineering background and has been in construction for 30 years
Director & General Manager of various companies within the Frol Group of Companies. Frol was a multi-disciplinary construction company operating throughout Southern Africa & the Indian Ocean Islands
Subsequent to his term at the Frol group Enver was Group CEO and Director of the Degaturn Group of Companies
Degaturn was a multi-disciplinary construction and property development business operating throughout the African continent and was the largest fully black owned construction group in South Africa.
The Group was involved in building, civil engineering and specialist construction, as well as Public/Private Partnership Concessions.
Since 2001, Enver has been a Consultant and Advisor to Black & Veatch International, which is a Global Engineering Consulting / Contracting Company.
His responsibilities included, advising on the sale/restructuring of B&V’s South African assets and businesses, Corporate control over the Aviation related businesses & structuring third party investments into B&V Power and Water projects in Africa and the Middle East.
Other areas of experience include:
- Advisor on technical matters and appointments to the Director General of Public Administration in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa
- Co-Promoter/Investor/Advisor, including serving on the first Board of Directors of the N3 Toll Road Consortium.
- Director and Investor via a Trust in the Pitisha Institute, which is an ICT training company.
- Investor via a Trust in Ubambo Investment Holdings Ltd., which is a unlisted public company. It has investments in the 3rd Cellular Operator (CellC), Aviation Services, Engineering and Financial Services.
